Azerbaijan is launching an Artificial Intelligence Academy as part of its “Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025–2028” to enhance AI talent. The plan involves partnering with top foreign universities, training hundreds of engineers, and creating a vibrant AI community, along with launching competitions and training programs for government employees.
Azerbaijan is set to establish an Artificial Intelligence Academy aimed at cultivating talent and expertise in AI. According to a recent report from Azernews, this initiative is part of the newly approved “Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025–2028,” by President Ilham Aliyev.
The strategy envisions partnering with at least two globally top-ranked universities between 2026-2027, training 500 AI engineers, and forming a robust AI community of around 3,000 individuals.
In a further step to enhance skills in AI and data management, a competition platform will be created to foster human resource potential. The strategy will also establish an AI information hub and provide 500 state employees with training through the “Artificial Intelligence for Managers” course. Additionally, they plan to grow interactive training platform users to 10,000 and host 10 competitions with 1,000 participants each.
Azerbaijan’s initiative to launch an Artificial Intelligence Academy signals a significant step towards fostering AI talent and capabilities in the region.
